1967 VW Karmann Ghia

I have never mad such an impulse buy as I did today!

Introducing my 'new' 1967 VW Karmann Ghia!! This is my treat to myself because I can't justify buying any 'equipment' for my job. I don't need anything but clothes on my back to go out and sell radio time. So - I'm buying a car that I can have fun with.

I have already learned it's an old car - little testy at times - and doesn't have the power as my regular car - but I'm going to have a lot of fun with this.

Here's to fun impulses in 2010!

Are we connecting?

Are we more connected than we were before?

When I think of blogs, social networking sites, career networking sites, youtube, justin tv - I get exhausted. I think of it as a lot of work - but then again these sites allow us to share with others. Share with friends...and strangers.

But are we sharing and connecting at the same level when we're sitting face to face? Probably note. But maybe it's just the best next thing since we can't 'see' everyone all the time.

Whether it's better or not - at least we are connecting.

I'm Back....Well Sort Of

Wow. Apparently you can only keep up with a new thing if you are good at it. I'm talking about Blogging. It has been 10 months since I have written anything, posted anything, posted pictures, talked about myself and hoped other people cared. Actually, that has all been going on on Facebook.

I really want to get better at this again.

Regarding my 'blanket business' nothing has happened since my last post. Check another thing off on my 'not so good at' list.

To be honest, my job got changed back in February. I thought I was stressed and over-worked last year? Yeah - try now. I rep 8 stations instead of 1 and I work with the third largest agency in the market. It's a lot of work and a lot of stress. What does this mean? No time for anything else.

I go back and forth everyday on whether I love my job or not. I love the pressure and the craziness of it all - but I don't do well with the feeling that I suck. I guess that comes from a lack of appreciation from my clients. Man....That sucks.

So - I guess I'm posting because I feel that this is another thing on that list. Will I post on a regular basis? Maybe so. Maybe not. I guess having a blog about working too much isn't very fun to read.

Maybe this Blog isn't about finding cool, inspiring things and it will be more of an online journal where I spill my thoughts.

First Step

The first step in building a business is creating a good image - right? And in this day in age where do you go to find out about a company? The internet of course!

I have met with a website designer to get this moving. I wanted to put up a splash page to at least give people an idea of what the image was for Little Citizens. As soon as I get my samples back and get the designs correct I can create the full page.

Here is the splash/landing page for Little Citizens

And my good friend Raya will be helping me with the press shots for the site. She is amazing!!!

And the train keeps on movin'....

On a Mission

I have told just a few people my true dream.....to own my own business. Not just any business, but a CREATIVE business. Jim has been telling me for years that I should open my own advertising agency and pull some of my direct clients into business with me. No thanks. If I'm going to work for myself, I want it to be something that I'm creatively passionate about.

For those of you who know, I have been working part time on a couple of business ideas. One being for graphic design, and the other being focused on a baby blanket company. Lately I have been 100% focused on this blanket company, and I am getting more excited about it as the days go by. I have been doing TONS of research on the logistics and the product development of this business....along with streamlining my designs.

I have 10 different designs, and I have finally found a manufacturer that can work with me on my vision. I am meeting with them next week to sit down to talk more...along with a web designer to help me with my website. The company is called Little Citizens and the website will soon be www.littlecitizensunite.com.

I have never put myself out like this before...and I have never been more excited. I really like my job in advertising, but it would be so great to work for myself...with a company that is my own vision.

I am not working off of my computer right now, but I would love to post some of my designs for some good ol' fashion feedback. Love my blogging friends! (Raya/Faith) :)

Now, I just need to meet with a lawyer and make this legit!
